Summary of Repairs: Phase 3 (1997/98)

Full scaffolding and repairs to high level masonry, roofs and leadwork of the Service Buildings to the North-east of the main house including all areas around the Workshop Courtyard and Pegasus Courtyard, the East Tower, Workshop Tower, Principal's Cottage and Pegasus Tower. Full scaffolding and repairs to high level masonry, roofs and leadwork of the rear (South-east) elevation of the main house including the East Wing, Conference Room projection and the Van der Elst Wing. Full scaffolding, major structural repairs, reroofing and internal repairs to the Octagonal Summer House.

	East Tower and Laboratory Block This picture shows the East Tower before work commenced. The large chimney stack in the foreground needed partial rebuilding and all the lead roof sheets, patched with bitumen for many years and in too large sheets, were recast and relaid to improved sheet sizes.

	Workshop Tower This picture shows the workshop tower before repair with unsafe high level masonry and defective slating and flashings.
	Conference Room Projection This picture shows the roof of the Conference Room projection after recasting and relaying the lead roof coverings and repairing the masonry.
	North Wing This picture shows the north-west elevation of the North Wing during reroofing.
	North Wing This picture shows the south-cast elevation of the North Wing.
	North Wing This picture shows the main south-east elevation of the house during repairs.
	Octagonal Summer House This picture shows the Octagonal Summer House scaffolded for repairs.
